No Greater Love

"When you were DEAD in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you ALIVE together with Him, having FORGIVEN us all our transgressions, having CANCELED out the certificate of DEBT consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, NAILING it to the cross." Colossians 2:13-14.

What a precious truth to think about this morning. What a humbling reminder that there truly is nothing good in us apart from Christ and it is through His sacrifice that we have forgiveness and life.  I love this verse in the song, O the Blood, "Oh what love, no greater love, grace, how can it be? That in my sin, yes even then, Christ shed His blood for me!"

Romans 5:6-8 says, "For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." How incredible.

Today, take time to think about what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. Thank Him for His grace, forgiveness, salvation and sacrifice. May the truth of God's amazing love awe, humble and excite us and lead us to share Him with others.
