support along the way

"They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers." –Acts 1:14 (NIV)

The above verse in Acts describes when Jesus' disciples gathered in prayer after Jesus was taken up into heaven. The power of prayer is a mystery to me, but it surely is life-changing.

A few friends of mine have been traveling, so I have been praying for them and about their prayer requests. Some of them are in busy cities, while others are traveling across the globe. They face different challenges, but God can help them face it all. One of my friends messaged me that her prayer was answered the very next day! It is amazing to see how God hears our prayers.

This past Sunday, I gathered in a group of four after our study in Sunday school. We shared our requests and then prayed for one another. Even last night, when someone at my table asked the waiter if he had any prayer requests, he smiled and told us that he his wife was pregnant. It can be such an uplifting experience to know that other believers were there to support each other and talk to God.

Sometimes, we cannot see our prayer's effects in full, but God does hear us. Psalm 34:15 (NIV) says, "The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry." Do you have someone you can pray for or with today? I pray that we talk to the Lord today and see how we can pray for others.
